And when he had entered into Capernaum, a centurion approached, petitioning him,


Now the servant of a certain centurion was dying, due to an illness. And he was very dear to him.


And when they had come to Jesus, they petitioned him anxiously, saying to him: "He is worthy that you should provide this to him.


And behold, a man came, whose name was Jairus, and he was a leader of the synagogue. And he fell down at the feet of Jesus, asking him to enter into his house.


And behold, a man from the crowd cried out, saying, "Teacher, I beg you, look kindly on my son, for he is my only son.


Since he had heard that Jesus came to Galilee from Judea, he sent to him and begged him to come down and heal his son. For he was beginning to die.


I beg you, on behalf of my son, whom I have begotten in my chains, Onesimus.
