And when Jesus passed on from there, he saw, sitting at the tax office, a man named Matthew. And he said to him, "Follow me." And rising up, he followed him.


And as he was passing by, he saw Levi of Alphaeus, sitting at the customs office. And he said to him, "Follow me." And rising up, he followed him.


and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus, and Simon the Canaanite,


And after these things, he went out, and he saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the customs office. And he said to him, "Follow me."


Simon, whom he surnamed Peter, and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,


and Jude of James, and Judas Iscariot, who was a traitor.


And then Thomas, who is called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, "Let us go, too, so that we may die with him."


Now Thomas, one of the twelve, who is called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus arrived.


And when they had entered into the cenacle, they ascended to the place where Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Jude of James, were staying.


And after they had been silent, James responded by saying: "Noble brothers, listen to me.


But I saw none of the other Apostles, except James, the brother of the Lord.


And so, when they had acknowledged the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who seemed like pillars, gave to me and to Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, so that we would go to the Gentiles, while they went to the circumcised,


James, servant of God and of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes of the dispersion, greetings.
