A man is not defiled by what enters into the mouth, but by what proceeds from the mouth. This is what defiles a man."


For John came to you in the way of justice, and you did not believe him. But the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. Yet even after seeing this, you did not repent, so as to believe him.


and saying: "Repent. For the kingdom of heaven has drawn near."


From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say: "Repent. For the kingdom of heaven has drawn near."


And Jesus traveled throughout all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every infirmity among the people.


Then, after John was handed over, Jesus went into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God,


But having departed, he began to preach and to disseminate the word, so that he was no longer able to openly enter a city, but had to remain outside, in deserted places. And they were gathered to him from every direction.


'Even the dust which clings to us from your city, we wipe away against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has drawn near.'


And cure the sick who are in that place, and proclaim to them, 'The kingdom of God has drawn near to you.'


And Abraham said to him: 'They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them.'


But he said to him: 'If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they believe even if someone has resurrected from the dead.' "


And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the infirm.


Philip found Nathanael, and he said to him, "We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the Law and the Prophets: Jesus, the son of Joseph, from Nazareth."


If we leave him alone, in this way all will believe in him. And then the Romans will come and take away our place and our nation."


Therefore, the Pharisees said among themselves: "Do you see that we are accomplishing nothing? Behold, the entire world has gone after him."


Now at times an Angel of the Lord would descend into the pool, and so the water was moved. And whoever descended first into the pool, after the motion of the water, he was healed of whatever infirmity held him.


But in this way God has fulfilled the things that he announced beforehand through the mouth of all the Prophets: that his Christ would suffer.
