The sons of Bilhah, handmaid of Rachel: Dan and Naphtali.


"And these are the names of the tribes, from the parts of the north, beside the way of Hethlon, continuing on to Hamath, at the entrance of Enon, to the border of Damascus toward the north, beside the way of Hamath. And from the region of the east to the sea, there will be one portion for Dan.


Yet only in so far as the land is divided by lot to a tribe and to families.


And so Joshua struck the entire land, the mountains, and the south, and the plains, and the descending slopes, with their kings. He did not leave in it any remains, but he put to death all that was able to breathe, just as the Lord, the God of Israel, had instructed him,


This is the possession of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, by their families, the cities and their villages.


And the border of their possession was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Ir-shemesh, that is, the City of the Sun,


In those days, there was no king in Israel. And the tribe of Dan sought a possession for themselves, so that they might live in it. For even to that day, they had not received their lot among the other tribes.
