Then God said: "Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven. And let them divide day from night, and let them become signs, both of the seasons, and of the days and years.


And then God said, "Let the waters produce animals with a living soul, and flying creatures above the earth, under the firmament of heaven."


His spirit has adorned the heavens, and his birthing hand has brought forth the winding serpent.


Crops desire clouds, and the clouds scatter their light.


Perhaps you have made the heavens with him, which are very solid, as if they had been cast from brass.


Sing to him, and sing psalms to him. Describe all his wonders.


Praise him, heavens of the heavens. And let all the waters that are above the heavens


Alleluia. Praise the Lord in his holy places. Praise him in the firmament of his power.


Unto the end. A Psalm of David.


May the Lord hear you in the day of tribulation. May the name of the God of Jacob protect you.


Approach him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be confounded.


Taste and see that the Lord is sweet. Blessed is the man who hopes in him.


If the clouds have been filled, they will pour forth rain upon the earth. If a tree falls to the south, or to the north, or to whatever direction it may fall, there it shall remain.


He is the One who sits upon the globe of the earth, and its inhabitants are like locusts. He extends the heavens as if they were nothing, and he spreads them out like a tent, in which to dwell.


But the Lord is the true God. He is the living God and the everlasting King. Before his indignation, the earth will shake. And the Gentiles will not be able to withstand his threats.


The One who made the earth by his strength, who prepared the world by his wisdom, and who stretched out the heavens by his prudence:


The burden of the word of the Lord upon Israel. The Lord, stretching forth the heavens and founding the earth and forming the spirit of man within him, says:


But they willfully ignore this: that the heavens existed first, and that the earth, from water and through water, was established by the Word of God.
