And the Lord has become a refuge for the poor, a helper in opportunity, in tribulation.


He has rescued us, and he is rescuing us, from great peril. In him, we hope that he will continue to rescue us.


Because of this, I am pleased in my infirmity: in reproaches, in difficulties, in persecutions, in distresses, for the sake of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am powerful.


Now to him who is able to do all things, more abundantly than we could ever ask or understand, by means of the virtue which is at work in us:


until the Lord provides rest to your brothers, just as he has provided for you. And they, too, shall possess the land, which he will give to them beyond the Jordan. Then each one shall return to his possession, which I have allotted to you.'


You should not fear them. For the Lord your God will fight on your behalf.'


the very great plagues, which your eyes saw, and the signs and wonders, and the powerful hand and outstretched arm, by which the Lord your God led you away. So will he do to all the peoples, whom you dread.


he spoke to them again: "Do not be afraid, and do not dread. Be strengthened and be steadfast. For so will the Lord do to all your enemies, against whom you fight."
