(Now he was thirty years old when he stood in the sight of king Pharaoh.) And he traveled throughout the regions of Egypt.


Blessed are your men, and blessed are your servants, who stand before you always, and who hear your wisdom.


Also, he appointed to him an allowance without ceasing, which also was given to him by the king, for each day, during all the days of his life.

But Daniel resolved in his heart that he would not be polluted with the king's meal, nor with the wine he drank, and he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not be contaminated.


Give us this day our life-sustaining bread.


And in response, the Angel said to him: "I am Gabriel, who stands before God, and I have been sent to speak to you, and to proclaim these things to you.

And so, be vigilant, praying at all times, so that you may be held worthy to escape from all these things, which are in the future, and to stand before the Son of man."
