And when the days were completed, setting out, we went on; and they all accompanied us with their wives and children, until we were outside of the city. And we kneeled down at the shore and prayed.


And we know that, for those who love God, all things work together unto good, for those who, in accordance with his purpose, are called to be saints.


He consoles us in all our tribulation, so that we too may be able to console those who are in any kind of distress, through the exhortation by which we also are being exhorted by God.


And so, very willingly, I will spend and exhaust myself for the sake of your souls, loving you more, while being loved less.


Now the One who accomplishes this very thing in us is God, who has given us the pledge of the Spirit.


By reason of this grace, I, Paul, am a prisoner of Jesus Christ, for the sake of you Gentiles.


Because of this, I ask you not to be weakened by my tribulations on your behalf; for this is your glory.


For I know that this will bring me to salvation, through your prayers and under the ministration of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,


I endure all things for this reason: for the sake of the elect, so that they, too, may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with heavenly glory.
