Then David went away from there, and he fled to the cave of Adullam. And when his brothers and all of his father's house had heard of it, they descended to him there.


"Do not be afraid. For the hand of my father, Saul, will not find you. And you shall reign over Israel. And I will be second to you. And even my father knows this."


Then it was reported to Saul that David had gone to Keilah. And Saul said: "The Lord has delivered him into my hands. For he is enclosed, having entered into a city which has gates and bars."


And he said to Saul: "Why do you listen to the words of men who say: 'David seeks evil against you?'


And he said to David: "You are more just than I am. For you have distributed good to me, but I have repaid evil to you.


And the Lord will repay each one according to his justice and faith. For the Lord has delivered you this day into my hand, but I was not willing to extend my hand against the Christ of the Lord.
