Jehovah, make me to know mine end,\par\tab And the measure of my days, what it is;\par\tab Let me know how frail I am.


Behold, thou hast made my days {\i as} handbreadths;\par\tab And my life-time is as nothing before thee:\par\tab Surely every man at his best estate is altogether vanity. {\i Selah


How much better is it to get wisdom than gold!\par\tab Yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.


Incline thine ear, and hear the words of the wise,\par\tab And apply thy heart unto my knowledge.


Apply thy heart unto instruction,\par\tab And thine ears to the words of knowledge.


Buy the truth, and sell it not;\par\tab {\i Yea}, wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.


Get wisdom, get understanding;\par\tab Forget not, neither decline from the words of my mouth;


Wisdom {\i is} the principal thing; {\i therefore} get wisdom;\par\tab Yea, with all thy getting get understanding.


It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.
