Thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house; and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbor, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.


{\b DALETH.}\par\par\tab My soul cleaveth unto the dust:\par\tab Quicken thou me according to thy word.


Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me;\par\tab Thou wilt stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of mine enemies,\par\tab And thy right hand will save me.


For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol;\par\tab Neither wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption.


Thou hast showed thy people hard things:\par\tab Thou hast made us to drink the wine of staggering.


That thy beloved may be delivered,\par\tab Save with thy right hand, and answer us.

Behold, {\i it was} for {\i my} peace {\i that} I had great bitterness:\par\tab But thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption;\par\tab For thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.


I went down to the bottoms of the mountains;\par\tab The earth with its bars {\i closed} upon me for ever:\par\tab Yet hast thou brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God.

whom God raised up, having loosed the pangs of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.


(Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?


And I say unto him, My lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they that come out of the great tribulation, and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.


Jehovah killeth, and maketh alive: He bringeth down to Sheol, and bringeth up.
