Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and lovingkindness, let not all the travail seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.


Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast fashioned me as clay;\par\tab And wilt thou bring me into dust again?


But he knoweth the way that I take;\par\tab When he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.


For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous;\par\tab But the way of the wicked shall perish.\par


Thou hast seen {\i it}; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand:\par\tab The helpless committeth {\i himself} unto thee;\par\tab Thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.

But I have trusted in thy lovingkindness;\par\tab My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

Consider mine affliction and my travail;\par\tab And forgive all my sins.


Thou, who hast showed us many and sore troubles,\par\tab Wilt quicken us again,\par\tab And wilt bring us up again from the depths of the earth.


Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah;\par\tab Behold my affliction {\i which I suffer} of them that hate me,\par\tab Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death;


Oh satisfy us in the morning with thy lovingkindness,\par\tab That we may rejoice and be glad all our days.


When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.


Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for Jehovah hath comforted his people, and will have compassion upon his afflicted.\par


For thou art our Father, though Abraham knoweth us not, and Israel doth not acknowledge us: thou, O Jehovah, art our Father; our Redeemer from everlasting is thy name.


In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.\par


the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that say, Give thanks to Jehovah of hosts, for Jehovah is good, for his lovingkindness {\i endureth} for ever; {\i and of them} that bring {\i sacrifices of} thanksgiving into the house of Jehovah. For I will cause the captivity of the land to return as at the first, saith Jehovah.\par


Till Jehovah look down, and behold from heaven.


Remember, O Jehovah, what is come upon us:\par\tab Behold, and see our reproach.


but if any man loveth God, the same is known by him.


but now that ye have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how turn ye back again to the weak and beggarly rudiments, whereunto ye desire to be in bondage over again?


Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his: and, Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.
