Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising;\par\tab Thou understandest my thought afar off.


He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart;\par\tab Who hath not lifted up his soul unto falsehood,\par\tab And hath not sworn deceitfully.


I hate the assembly of evil-doers,\par\tab And will not sit with the wicked.


and the dust returneth to the earth as it was, and the spirit returneth unto God who gave it.


They are vanity, a work of delusion: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.


But they are together brutish and foolish: the instruction of idols! it is but a stock.


They that regard lying vanities\par\tab Forsake their own mercy.


And he saith unto them, {\cf6 Draw out now, and bear unto the ruler of the feast.} And they bare it.


because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks; but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened.


But {\i I say}, that the things which they sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have communion with demons.


Concerning therefore the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is {\i anything} in the world, and that there is no God but one.
