And he said, Lay not thy hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him; for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son, from me.


And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live: for I fear God:


And it will come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of Jehovah will carry thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he will slay me: but I thy servant fear Jehovah from my youth.


But the former governors that were before me were chargeable unto the people, and took of them bread and wine, besides forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.


His ways are firm at all times;\par\tab Thy judgments are far above out of his sight:\par\tab As for all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.


The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom;\par\tab A good understanding have all they that do {\i his commandments}:\par\tab His praise endureth for ever.


He will bless them that fear Jehovah,\par\tab Both small and great.


{\b ALEPH.}\par\par\tab Blessed are they that are perfect in the way,\par\tab Who walk in the law of Jehovah.


I have sworn, and have confirmed it,\par\tab That I will observe thy righteous ordinances.


Thy testimonies have I taken as a heritage for ever;\par\tab For they are the rejoicing of my heart.


Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness,\par\tab And thy law is truth.


Turn away my reproach whereof I am afraid;\par\tab For thine ordinances are good.


At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee\par\tab Because of thy righteous ordinances.


I will give thanks unto thee with uprightness of heart,\par\tab When I learn thy righteous judgments.


I know, O Jehovah, that thy judgments are righteous,\par\tab And that in faithfulness thou hast afflicted me.


Thou wilt keep them, O Jehovah,\par\tab Thou wilt preserve them from this generation for ever.


He showeth his word unto Jacob,\par\tab His statutes and his ordinances unto Israel.

Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God;\par\tab Thy judgments are a great deep:\par\tab O Jehovah, thou preservest man and beast.


Now these are the ordinances which thou shalt set before them.


The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil:\par\tab Pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way,\par\tab And the perverse mouth, do I hate.


Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Jehovah, have we waited for thee; to thy name, even to thy memorial {\i name}, is the desire of our soul.


I have not spoken in secret, in a place of the land of darkness; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I, Jehovah, speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.\par


And they said, Cornelius a centurion, a righteous man and one that feareth God, and well reported of by all the nation of the Jews, was warned {\i of God} by a holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words from thee.


Behold then the goodness and severity of God: toward them that fell, severity; but toward thee, God's goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.


And we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against them that practise such things.


And what great nation is there, that hath statutes and ordinances so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?


And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,\par\tab Great and marvellous are thy works, O Lord God, the Almighty; righteous and true are thy ways, thou King of the nations.


And I heard the altar saying, Yea, O Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.\par


{\b for true and righteous are his judgments}; for he hath judged the great harlot, her that corrupted the earth with her fornication, and {\b he hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.}


Only fear Jehovah, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider how great things he hath done for you.
