And God saw the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.


Evil devices are an abomination to Jehovah;\par\tab But pleasant words {\i are} pure.


Who are crooked in their ways,\par\tab And wayward in their paths:


It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop,\par\tab Than with a contentious woman in a wide house.


There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes,\par\tab And yet are not washed from their filthiness.


Behold, this only have I found: that God made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.\par


This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea also, the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that {\i they go} to the dead.


The way of the just is uprightness: thou that art upright dost direct the path of the just.\par


The way of peace they know not; and there is no justice in their goings: they have made them crooked paths; whosoever goeth therein doth not know peace.\par


Many shall purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but they that are wise shall understand.


Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by its fruit.


Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.


and he made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.


for ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you jealousy and strife, are ye not carnal, and do ye not walk after the manner of men?


To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.


who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works.\par


For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one also that doeth righteousness is begotten of him.\par


And every one that hath this hope {\i set} on him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
