How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity?\par\tab And scoffers delight them in scoffing,\par\tab And fools hate knowledge?


The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge;\par\tab {\i But} the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.


A prudent man concealeth knowledge;\par\tab But the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.


Every prudent man worketh with knowledge;\par\tab But a fool flaunteth {\i his} folly.


Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to buy wisdom,\par\tab Seeing he hath no understanding?


When the wicked cometh, there cometh also contempt,\par\tab And with ignominy {\i cometh} reproach.


Yea also, when the fool walketh by the way, his understanding faileth him, and he saith to every one {\i that} he is a fool.


And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought {\i him} that he would depart from their borders.\par


So also ye, since ye are zealous of spiritual {\i gifts}, seek that ye may abound unto the edifying of the church.


Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but love edifieth.


Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
