Jehovah preserveth the simple:\par\tab I was brought low, and he saved me.


The opening of thy words giveth light;\par\tab It giveth understanding unto the simple.


{\b BETH.}\par\par\tab Wherewith shall a young man cleanse his way?\par\tab By taking heed {\i thereto} according to thy word.


The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring the soul:\par\tab The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making wise the simple.


Come, ye children, hearken unto me:\par\tab I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.


My son, let them not depart from thine eyes;\par\tab Keep sound wisdom and discretion:


I wisdom have made prudence my dwelling,\par\tab And find out knowledge {\i and} discretion.


I love them that love me;\par\tab And those that seek me diligently shall find me.


Now therefore, {\i my} sons, hearken unto me;\par\tab For blessed are they that keep my ways.


O ye simple, understand prudence;\par\tab And, ye fools, be of an understanding heart.


Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.


And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but is shall be for {\i the redeemed}: the wayfaring men, yea fools, shall not err {\i therein}.


Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, that shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.


But flee youthful lusts, and follow after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
