Jehovah looked down from heaven upon the children of men,\par\tab To see if there were any that did understand,\par\tab That did seek after God.


A brutish man knoweth not;\par\tab Neither doth a fool understand this:


Consider, ye brutish among the people;\par\tab And ye fools, when will ye be wise?


Let all them be put to shame that serve graven images,\par\tab That boast themselves of idols:\par\tab Worship him, all ye gods.


Surely I am more brutish than any man,\par\tab And have not the understanding of a man;


They shall be turned back, they shall be utterly put to shame, that trust in graven images, that say unto molten images, Ye are our gods.\par


Behold, all his fellows shall be put to shame; and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; they shall fear, they shall be put to shame together.\par


They shall be put to shame, yea, confounded, all of them; they shall go into confusion together that are makers of idols.


I will declare thy righteousness; and as for thy works, they shall not profit thee.


They are like a palm-tree, of turned work, and speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither is it in them to do good.\par


But they are together brutish and foolish: the instruction of idols! it is but a stock.


for that they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.\par


And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of Jehovah; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands lay cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.
