And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for Jehovah searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts. If thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.


I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, that are present here, offer willingly unto thee.


But he knoweth the way that I take; When he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.


The murderer riseth with the light; He killeth the poor and needy; And in the night he is as a thief.


Jehovah trieth the righteous; But the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.


I have sworn, and have confirmed it, That I will observe thy righteous ordinances.


O Jehovah, thou hast searched me, and known me.


Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my thoughts;


I will bless Jehovah, who hath given me counsel; Yea, my heart instructeth me in the night seasons.


Examine me, O Jehovah, and prove me; Try my heart and my mind.


I said, I will take heed to my ways, That I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, While the wicked is before me.


For thou, O God, hast proved us: Thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.


If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me (Yea, I have delivered him that without cause was mine adversary);


He that guardeth his mouth keepeth his life; But he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.


But thou, O Jehovah, knowest me; thou seest me, and triest my heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.


In those days, and in that time, saith Jehovah, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I leave as a remnant.


For they have made ready their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.


Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.


And I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people; and they shall say, Jehovah is my God.


But who can abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:


who, when he was come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad; and he exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord:


And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: There was a man of Macedonia standing, beseeching him, and saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.


For I know nothing against myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.


For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.


For in many things we all stumble. If any stumbleth not in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also.


that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold that perisheth though it is proved by fire, may be found unto praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ:


Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that Jehovah had delivered thee to-day into my hand in the cave: and some bade me kill thee; but mine eye spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth my hand against my lord; for he is Jehovah’s anointed.


Jehovah judge between me and thee, and Jehovah avenge me of thee; but my hand shall not be upon thee.


Jehovah forbid that I should put forth my hand against Jehovah’s anointed: but now take, I pray thee, the spear that is at his head, and the cruse of water, and let us go.


And Jehovah will render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness; forasmuch as Jehovah delivered thee into my hand to-day, and I would not put forth my hand against Jehovah’s anointed.
