Wherefore should I take my flesh in my teeth, And put my life in my hand?


Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe, And shall have respect unto thy statutes continually.


Of old have I known from thy testimonies, That thou hast founded them for ever. ר RESH.


I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. ג GIMEL.


For I am become like a wine-skin in the smoke; Yet do I not forget thy statutes.


Even as it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.


I protest by that glorying in you, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.


Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as one beside himself) I more; in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, in deaths oft.


And when I saw that ye saved me not, I put my life in my hand, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and Jehovah delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?


for he put his life in his hand, and smote the Philistine, and Jehovah wrought a great victory for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice; wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?


And David sware moreover, and said, Thy father knoweth well that I have found favor in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as Jehovah liveth, and as thy soul liveth, there is but a step between me and death.
