But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of Jehovah, the God of Israel, with all his heart: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, wherewith he made Israel to sin.


A gracious woman obtaineth honor; And violent men obtain riches.


He that guardeth his mouth keepeth his life; But he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.


The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: He that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.


Thorns and snares are in the way of the perverse: He that keepeth his soul shall be far from them.


Hear thou, my son, and be wise, And guide thy heart in the way.


He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool; But whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.


My son, let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep sound wisdom and discretion:


Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom; Yea, with all thy getting get understanding.


There is a grievous evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept by the owner thereof to his hurt:


The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it?


But the things which proceed out of the mouth come forth out of the heart; and they defile the man.


For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, railings:


Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.


The good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.


Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes saw, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life; but make them known unto thy children and thy children’s children;


looking carefully lest there be any man that falleth short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby the many be defiled;
