And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the thirty, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thy helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.


How forcible are words of uprightness! But your reproof, what doth it reprove?


Plead thou my cause, and redeem me: Quicken me according to thy word.


A soft answer turneth away wrath; But a grievous word stirreth up anger.


A word fitly spoken Is like apples of gold in network of silver.


for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to withstand or to gainsay.


And they were not able to withstand the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spake.


I therefore have not sinned against thee, but thou doest me wrong to war against me: Jehovah, the Judge, be judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon.


And Saul knew David’s voice, and said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And David said, It is my voice, my lord, O king.


And, behold, as thy life was much set by this day in mine eyes, so let my life be much set by in the eyes of Jehovah, and let him deliver me out of all tribulation.
