Psalm 48 - Easy To Read Version

¹ The Lord is great.\par People praise him very much\par in the city of our God,\par \{on\} his holy mountain.\par

² God’s holy city is at such a pleasant altitude!\par It makes people around the world happy!\par Mount Zion is the true mountain of God. {\cf2\super [288]} \par It is the city of the Great King.\par

³ In the palaces of that city,\par God is known as the Fortress.\par

⁴ One time, some kings met together.\par \{They planned to attack this city\}.\par They all marched toward that city.\par

⁵ But then those kings saw it,\par and they were amazed.\par They all panicked and ran away!\par

⁶ Fear grabbed those kings.\par They shook with fear!\par

⁷ \{God, you used\} a strong east wind\par and wrecked their big ships.\par

⁸ Yes, we heard the stories\par \{about your power\}.\par But we also saw it,\par in the city of our God,\par the city of the Lord All-Powerful.\par God makes that city strong forever!\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [289]})\i0 \par

⁹ God, in your temple we think carefully\par about your loving kindness.\par

¹⁰ God, you are famous.\par People praise you everywhere on earth.\par Everyone knows how good you are.\par

¹¹ \{God,\} Mount Zion is happy.\par The towns of Judah rejoice\par because of your good decisions.\par

¹² Walk around Zion.\par Look at the city.\par Count the towers.\par

¹³ See the tall walls.\par Admire Zion’s palaces.\par Then you can tell the next generation\par about it.\par

¹⁴ This God is our God\par forever and ever!\par He will lead us forever! {\cf2\super [290]} \par
