¹ Lord, I call to you for help.\par Listen to me while I pray to you.\par Hurry and help me!\par

² Lord, accept my prayer.\par Let it be like a gift of burning incense.\par Let it be like the evening sacrifice. {\cf2\super [641]} \par

³ Lord, help me control the things I say.\par Help me watch what I say.\par

⁴ Don’t let me want to do bad things.\par Stop me from joining bad people\par when they do wrong.\par Don’t let me share the things\par those bad people enjoy doing.\par

⁵ A good person can correct me.\par That would be kind of him.\par Your followers can criticize me.\par It would be good for them to do that.\par I would accept that.\par But I will always pray against\par the bad things those bad people do.\par

⁶ Let their rulers be punished.\par Then people will know I spoke the truth.\par

⁷ People dig and plow the ground.\par And spread the dirt around.\par In the same way, our bones\par will be spread around in their grave.\par

⁸ Lord my Master, I look to you for help.\par I trust you.\par Please don’t let me die.\par

⁹ Bad people set traps for me.\par Don’t let me fall into their traps.\par Don’t let them trap me.\par

¹⁰ Let wicked people fall into their own trap,\par while I walk away unharmed.\par
