¹ Praise the Lord!\par Praise the name of the Lord!\par Servants of the Lord, praise him!\par

² Praise him, you people that are standing\par in the Lord’s temple,\par in the courtyard of the temple of our God.\par

³ Praise the Lord, because he is good.\par Praise his name, because it is pleasant.\par

⁴ The Lord chose Jacob. {\cf2\super [626]} \par Israel belongs to God.\par

⁵ I know the Lord is great!\par Our Master is greater than all the gods!\par

⁶ The Lord does anything he wants,\par in heaven and earth,\par in the seas and deep oceans.\par

⁷ God makes the clouds all over the earth.\par God makes the lightning and rain.\par And God makes the wind. {\cf2\super [627]} \par

⁸ God destroyed all the firstborn men\par and all the firstborn animals in Egypt.\par

⁹ God did many wonders and miracles\par in Egypt.\par God made those things happen\par to Pharaoh and his officials.\par

¹⁰ God defeated many nations.\par God killed powerful kings.\par

¹¹ God defeated Sihon, king of the Amorites.\par God defeated Og, king of Bashan.\par God defeated all the nations in Canaan.\par

¹² And God gave their land to Israel.\par God gave that land to his people.\par

¹³ Lord, your name will be famous forever!\par Lord, people will remember you\par forever and ever.\par

¹⁴ The Lord punished the nations.\par But the Lord was kind to his servants.\par

¹⁵ The gods of the other people\par were only gold and silver statues.\par Their gods were only statues\par that people made.\par

¹⁶ The statues had mouths, but couldn’t speak.\par The statues had eyes, but couldn’t see.\par

¹⁷ The statues had ears, but couldn’t hear.\par The statues had noses, but couldn’t smell.\par

¹⁸ And the people who made the statues\par will become just like them!\par Why? Because they trusted those statues\par to help them.\par

¹⁹ Family of Israel, bless the Lord!\par Aaron’s family, bless the Lord!\par

²⁰ Levi’s family, bless the Lord!\par Followers of the Lord, bless the Lord!\par

²¹ The Lord is blessed from Zion,\par from Jerusalem, his home.\par Praise the Lord!\par
