Psalm 115 - Easy To Read Version

¹ Lord, we should not receive any honor.\par The honor belongs to you.\par The honor is yours because of your love\par and because we can trust you.\par

² Why should the nations wonder\par where our God is?\par

³ God is in heaven,\par and he does whatever he wants.\par

⁴ The “gods” of those nations are only statues\par made from gold and silver.\par They are only statues\par that some person made.\par

⁵ Those statues have mouths, but can’t talk.\par They have eyes, but can’t see.\par

⁶ They have ears, but can’t hear.\par They have noses, but can’t smell.\par

⁷ They have hands, but can’t feel.\par They have legs, but can’t walk.\par And no sounds come from their throats.\par

⁸ The people who make and trust those statues\par will become just like them!\par

⁹ People of Israel, trust the Lord!\par The Lord is their strength and shield.\par

¹⁰ Aaron’s family, trust the Lord!\par The Lord is their strength and shield.\par

¹¹ Followers of the Lord, trust the Lord!\par The Lord is their strength and shield.\par

¹² The Lord remembers us.\par The Lord will bless us.\par The Lord will bless Israel.\par The Lord will bless Aaron’s family.\par

¹³ The Lord will bless his followers,\par great and small.\par

¹⁴ I hope the Lord gives more and more\par to you and your children.\par

¹⁵ The Lord made heaven and earth.\par And the Lord welcomes you! {\cf2\super [580]} \par

¹⁶ Heaven belongs to the Lord.\par But he gave the earth to people.\par

¹⁷ Dead people don’t praise the Lord.\par People down in the grave\par don’t praise the Lord.\par

¹⁸ But we bless the Lord now,\par and we will bless him forever more!\par Praise the Lord!\par
