¹ Israel left Egypt.\par Jacob (Israel) left that foreign country.\par

² Judah became God’s special people.\par Israel became his kingdom.\par

³ The Red Sea saw this and ran away.\par The Jordan River turned and ran.\par

⁴ The mountains danced like rams.\par The hills danced like lambs.\par

⁵ Red Sea, why did you run away?\par Jordan River, why did you turn and run away?\par

⁶ Mountains, why did you dance like rams?\par And hills, why did you dance like lambs?\par

⁷ The earth shook in front of the Master,\par the Lord God of Jacob.\par

⁸ God is the One who caused water to flow\par from a rock.\par God made a spring of water flow\par from that hard rock.\par \par \par
