Now when John, who was in the prison, heard of the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples


For when Herod had arrested John, he bound him and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife.


Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God,


For Herod himself had sent for John to be arrested and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, because he had married her.


But they kept insisting, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, starting in Galilee all the way here.”


Herod added this to them all: he locked up John in prison.


Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread throughout the whole countryside.


Then he went down to Capernaum, a town of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day,


On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee. He found Philip, and Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”


This was the first the of signs Jesus did. In Cana of Galilee he revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.


since John had not yet been thrown into prison.


After the two days he departed from there for Galilee.


This is the second sign that Jesus did, after coming from Judea into Galilee.
