I was asleep, but my heart was awake. It is the voice of my beloved who knocks: “Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled; for my head is drenched with dew, and my hair with the dampness of the night.”
Now while the bridegroom was delayed, they became drowsy and fell asleep.
Peter said to him, “Even if I have to die with you, I will not deny you.” And all the disciples said the same thing.
Then he said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, even to the point of death. Y’all remain here and keep watch with me.”
