Y’all and y’all’s households may eat it anywhere. It is y’all’s compensation in return for y’all’s service in the Tent of Meeting.


Whatever city or village y’all enter, find someone who is worthy and stay there until y’all go on.


He instructed them that they should take nothing for their journey except a staff only: no bread, no wallet, and no money in their belts.


He answered them, “Anyone who has two coats should share with someone who has none, and anyone who has food must do likewise.”


He said to them, “Y’all are to take nothing for your journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, not even an extra shirt.


When you come, bring the cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus and the scrolls, especially the parchments.


He took his staff in his hand, and chose five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag. With his sling was in his hand, he approached to the Philistine.


Then Saul said to his servant, “But suppose we do go, what should we bring the man? For the bread is spent in our sacks, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God. What do we have?”
