Just then, there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,


The unclean spirit threw the man into convulsions, then screamed as he came out of him.


(because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”)


He told his disciples that a little boat should be ready for him because of the crowd, so that they wouldn’t press toward him.


Again he began to teach by the seaside. A large crowd was gathered around him, so he entered a boat in the sea and sat down while the multitude was on the land by the sea.


Leaving the crowd, they took him with them, just as he was, in the boat. Other small boats were also with him.


When Jesus had crossed back over by boat to the other side, a great crowd gathered around him while he was by the seashore.


He lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with chains.


For he said to him, “Come out of this man, you unclean spirit!”


But immediately, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard about him, and came and fell down at his feet.


When Jesus stepped ashore, a man from the town who had demons came to meet him. He had not worn clothing for a long time, and did not live in a house, but in the tombs.


While the boy was approaching, the demon slammed him on the ground and threw him into a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.
