YHWH said to Satan, “Look, all that he has is in your power. But do not lay your hand on him.” So Satan went out from the presence of YHWH.
YHWH said to Satan, “Very well, he is in your hand. Only spare his life.”
“Y’all shouldn’t give what is holy to the dogs or throw your* pearls before the pigs, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear y’all to pieces.
He said to them, “Y’all go!” They came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the cliff into the sea and died in the water.
They begged him, saying, “Send us into the pigs, so that we may enter into them.”
Those tending the pigs ran away, and reported it in the city and in the country. The people came to see what had happened.
Y’all are of your* father the devil, and y’all want to do what your* father desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn’t stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own, for he is a liar, and the father of lies.
