While they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Humanity is about to be delivered up into the hands of men.
They kept this matter to themselves, questioning what the “rising from the dead” meant.
But they didn’t understand this statement, and they were afraid to ask him.
But they understood none of these things. This meaning of this statement was hidden from them, and they didn’t understand what he was saying.
An argument arose among them about which of them might be the greatest.
His disciples didn’t understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about him, and that they had done these things to him.
The crowd then answered him, “We have heard from the law that the Christ will remain forever. How do you say, ‘The Son of Humanity must be lifted up?’ Who is this Son of Humanity?”
