He called Gehazi, and said, “Call the Shunammite woman!” So he called her. When she had come in to him, he said, “Take up your son.”
They brought the boy to him, and when the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw him into a convulsion, and he fell on the ground, rolling around and foaming at the mouth.
The dead man sat up and began to speak, and then Jesus gave him to his mother.
A spirit seizes him, and he suddenly screams; it throws him into convulsions with foaming at the mouth. It hardly ever leaves him and is torturing him.
Jesus answered, “Unbelieving and perverse generation, how long must I stay with y’all and put up with y’all? Bring your son here.”
They were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while everyone was marveling at all the things that Jesus did, he said to his disciples,
Then, when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat, and they were afraid.
He gave her his hand and helped her stand her up. Then he called the saints and widows, and he presented her alive.
For this reason, y’all rejoice, O heavens and those who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to y’all with great fury, knowing that he has but a short time.”
