They come to you as the people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but don’t do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.

Jesus knew what they wanted to ask him, so he said to them, “Are y’all asking each other about what I said, ‘In a little while, y’all will not see me. Then after a little while, y’all will see me again?’
Now we know that you know all things, and have no need for anyone to question you. By this we believe that you came from God.”
He came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one can do the signs that you do unless God is with him.”
