My son, fear YHWH and the king. Don’t join those who are rebellious,


But so that we don’t offend them, go to the sea and throw out a hook. Take up the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth, you will find a four-drachma coin. Take that, and give it to them for me and you.”


They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “So then y’all are to give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”


Jesus answered them, “Y’all render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” They marveled greatly at him.


“Y’all show me a denarius. Whose image and title are on it?” They answered, “Caesar’s.”


But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than humans.


So whether y’all eat or drink, or whatever y’all do, y’all do all to the glory of God.


If anyone speaks, let it be with the words of God. If anyone serves, let it be from the strength which God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
