He burned the house of YHWH, the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem. He burned every great house with fire.
King David also dedicated these to YHWH, with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations: from Edom, from Moab, from the children of Ammon, from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
All their cities in the places in which they lived, and all their encampments, they burned with fire.

But Rahab the prostitute, her father’s household, and all that she had, Joshua saved alive. She lives in the middle of Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
So Joshua burned Ai and made it a heap forever, even a desolation, to this day.
The ten horns you saw, and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate, will strip her naked, will eat her flesh, and will burn her with fire.
For this reason her plagues will come in a single day: death, grief, and famine. She will be burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who has judged her.
