Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in your nose, and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.’


Who can strip off its outer garment? Who will come within its jaws?


Y’all must not become like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding, who are controlled by bit and bridle, or else they will not come near to you.


I said, “I will watch my ways, so that I don’t sin with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before me.”


Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in your nose and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.


If anyone thinks of themself as religious but doesn’t bridle their tongue, they deceive their own heart and their religion is worthless.


Look at the ships too. Though they are large and driven by fierce winds, they are directed by a tiny rudder, wherever the pilot desires.
