While Israel lived in that land, Reuben went and lay with Bilhah, his father’s concubine, and Israel heard of it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve.


When he overtook them, he spoke these words to them.


Look, the money that we found in the mouth of our sacks, we brought again to you out of the land of Canaan. How could we steal silver or gold out of your lord’s house?
