God saw everything that ʜᴇ had made, and it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.
God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because ʜᴇ rested in it from all ʜɪꜱ work of creation which ʜᴇ had done.
“Six days you are to do your work, and on the seventh day you are to rest, so that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your servant, and the resident foreigner may be refreshed.
Work is to be done for six days, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to YHWH. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death-death.
It is a sign between me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days YHWH made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.’”

but the seventh day is a Sabbath to YHWH your God, in which you must not do any work, neither you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male slave, nor your female slave, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates, so that your male slave and your female slave may rest as well as you.
For anyone who has entered into ʜɪꜱ rest has also rested from their works, just as God did from ʜɪꜱ.
For somewhere ʜᴇ has spoken about the seventh day in this way, “And God rested on the seventh day from all ʜɪꜱ works,”
