Moreover I saw under the sun, in the place of justice, that wickedness was there; and in the place of righteousness, that wickedness was there.


“‘Y’all must not act unjustly in judgment. You must neither lift up the face of the poor or show honor to face of the great, but you are to judge your neighbor in righteousness.


“‘Y’all must be unfair in judgments of measures in length, weight, or quantity.


You who turn justice to wormwood, and cast down righteousness to the earth!


Then Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas, the high priest.


“Does our law judge a man unless it first hears from him personally and knows what he does?”


Those standing nearby said, “How dare you insult God’s high priest?”
