“Y’all are to comfort and comfort my people,” says y’all’s God.


Then he went back upstairs and broke bread and ate. Paul talked a long while until dawn, and then departed.


We went on ahead to the ship and set sail for Assos, where we intended to pick up Paul, because he had arranged it, intending himself to go there by land.


Hᴇ comforts us in all our affliction to enable us to comfort those who are in all their affliction, with the comfort through which we are comforted by God.


I have sent him to y’all for this very purpose so that y’all may know our state and that he may comfort your* hearts.


We sent Timothy, our sibling and God’s deacon in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen y’all and encourage your* faith,


Therefore y’all comfort one another with these words.


Therefore y’all should encourage one another and build each other up, just as y’all are already doing.


Siblings, we urge y’all: y’all must warn the undisciplined, encourage the disheartened, support the weak, and be patient with everyone.


May our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope by grace,
