Letters were sent by couriers into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to plunder their possessions.


YHWH spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,


There are many plans in a person’s heart, but YHWH’s counsel will prevail.


Don’t boast about tomorrow; for you don’t know what a day may bring.


Who is he who says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord doesn’t command it?


“Then they will deliver y’all to oppression and will kill y’all. Y’all will be hated by all the ethnic groups because of my name.


They said, “But not during the feast, so that the people don’t riot.”


Now it was two days before the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread, and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might arrest him secretly and kill him.


But before all these things, they will lay their hands on y’all and will persecute y’all, delivering y’all up to synagogues and prisons, bringing y’all before kings and governors for my name’s sake.


But Peter said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!”


When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his garments and made four parts, one for each soldier. They also took the tunic, which was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.


Very truly I tell you, when you were young, you dressed yourself and walked where you wanted to. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you don’t want to go.”


When he saw that this pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter too, during the Feast of Unleavened Bread.


So Peter was kept in the prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

They sized Peter and John, and put them in jail until the next day, since it was already evening.


They seized the apostles and put them in the public jail.


But Saul began ravaging the church. He entered every house, dragging out men and women and putting them into prison.
