For when Herod had arrested John, he bound him and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife.
But on Herod’s birthday, the daughter of Herodias danced before them. She pleased Herod so much
“Then they will deliver y’all to oppression and will kill y’all. Y’all will be hated by all the ethnic groups because of my name.
Every day I was with y’all in the temple, and y’all never laid a hand on me. But this is y’all’s hour, and this is the reign of darkness.”
Remember what I told y’all: ‘A servant is not greater than his lord.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute y’all. If they obey my word, they will obey y’all’s too.
They will put y’all out of the synagogues. Yes, the time is coming that whoever kills y’all will think they are offering service to God.
They did this, sending their aid to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

Then the church throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and was being built up. Living in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, the church increased in number.
