When the woman of Tekoa spoke to the king, she fell on her face to the ground, showed respect, and said, “Help, O king!”
He said to him, “Say now to her, ‘Look, you have cared for us with all this care. What is to be done for you? Would you like to be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the army?’” She answered, “I dwell among my own people.”
As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, saying, “Help, my lord, O king!”
The woman arose, and did according to the man of God’s word. She went with her household, and lived in the land of the Philistines for seven years.
Now the king was talking with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, “Please tell me all the great things that Elisha has done.”
When the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed to her a certain officer, saying, “Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.”
He judged the cause of the poor and needy, so all went well. Isn’t this what it means to know me?” says YHWH.
So she and her two daughters-in-law left the place where they had been living, and they went on the road returning to the land of Judah.
