Then Nathan spoke to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, “Haven’t you heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith reigns, and David our lord doesn’t know it?

Now therefore as YHWH lives, who has established me and set me on my father David’s throne, and who has made me a house as he promised, surely Adonijah will be put to death today.”
Of all my sons (for YHWH has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of YHWH’s kingdom over Israel.
David the king said to all the assembly, “Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for YHWH God.

because you still exalt yourself against my people, that you won’t let them go.
Before destruction a person’s heart is proud, but before honor is humility.
