But he that was sown in the stony ground, is he, which heareth the word of God, and anon with joy receiveth it,
and it fortuned as he sowed, that some fell by the wayside, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
and as soon as the sun was up it caught heat: and because it had not rooting it withered away.
They on the stones, are they which when they hear the word receive it with joy. And these have no roots, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation go away.
And some fell on stone, and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moistness.
