and they shall mock him, and scourge him and spit upon him, and kill him, and the third day he shall rise again.


And some began to spit at him, and to cover his face, and to beat him with their fists, and to say unto him, aread unto us. And the servants buffeted him on the face.


And began to salute him: Hail king of the jewes.


¶ And when they had mocked him, they took the purple off him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out, to crucify him.


He answered and said unto them: Helias at his first coming, shall bring all things again into good order: And even so is it written of the son of man, that he shall suffer many things, and shall be set at nought.


¶ And the men that stood about Iesus, mocked him, and smote him,


And Herod, with his men of war, despised him, and mocked him, And arrayed him in white, and sent him again to Pilate.
