When your days are done and you sleep with your fathers, I will raise up your seed, who will come forth from you after you, and I will establish his kingdom.


I will be a father to him, and he will be a son to Me. If he commits iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and with the strokes from sons of men.


So your house and your kingship will be secure forever before you; your throne will be established forever.”


Furthermore the king said, ‘Blessed be Adonai, God of Israel, who this day has given one to sit on my throne, while my eyes are seeing it.’”


“Now therefore, Adonai, God of Israel, keep with Your servant David my father what You have promised him, saying: ‘You shall not lack a man to sit before Me on the throne of Israel, if only your children watch their way, walking before Me as you have walked before Me.’


“Now therefore, Adonai, God of Israel, keep for Your servant David, my father, that which You have promised him saying: ‘For you will never be cut off, you will not fail to have a man sit before Me on the throne—if only your sons pay attention to their way, to walk in My Torah as you have walked before Me.’


then I will establish your royal throne as I covenanted with your father David saying, ‘You shall not lack a man to be ruler in Israel.’


Adonai has sworn, and will not change His mind: “You are a Kohen forever according to the order of Melechizedek .”


then I will punish their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with flogging.


I will not violate My covenant, nor alter what My lips have uttered.


his descendants will endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me,


‘Forever I will establish your seed, and will build your throne from generation to generation.’” Selah


God is not a man who lies, or a son of man who changes his mind! Does He speak and then not do it, or promise and not fulfill it?


He will be great and will be called Ben-Elyon. Adonai Elohim will give Him the throne of David, His father.


So because he was a prophet and knew God had sworn with an oath to him to seat one of his descendants on his throne,


So by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us.


Moreover, the Eternal Glory of Israel does not lie or change His mind. For He is not human that He should change His mind.”
