Beside them the birds of the sky dwell— they sing among the branches.


O inhabitant of Lebanon, nestled in the cedars, how you will groan when pangs come on you, pain like a woman in travail!


Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed times, and the turtledove, swallow and crane observe the time of their migration, but My people do not know the judgments of Adonai.


All the birds of the sky nested in its branches. All the beasts of the field gave birth to their young under its branches. All great nations lived under its shade.


“This is the interpretation, O king. It is the decree of the Most High that has come upon my lord the king:


the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, and the bat.


Even if you soar like the eagle, and even if you set your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down.’” declares Adonai.


It’s the smallest of all seeds; yet when it’s full grown, it’s greater than the other herbs. It becomes like a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”
